Text Box: Company Profile
King's Chef  is a 13 seat custom Valentine Diner built in 1956. King's Chef is small and cozy with a vibrant energy.  If  the diner inside is full,  King's Chef  also has additional seating (weather permitting) on one of our two great patios for your dining enjoyment.
King's Chef was purchased in 1997 by Gary A. Geiser and has won several local and national awards.  King's Chef has been awarded Best Diner in Colorado Springs Co., Best Green Chili in Colorado Springs, Best Diner West of the Mississippi and Best Diner in America. King's Chef is truly a REAL DINING EXPERIENCE.
King's Chef has had three other owners, some guy named Bill purchased the custom Valentine Diner from the Valentine Corporation in Kansas in 1955 and opened the doors in 1956.  The diner sat on the corner of Tejon Street and Costilla Avenue on the south east corner until 1958.  The diner then moved 1/2 block on Costilla to 110 east Costilla and is still on the same location today.  The Diner was taken over by Samuel Floyd Johnson.  Legend has it that Sam Johnson ran the King's Chef diner for 30+ years with  his loyal waitress who is now teaching special education in Colorado Springs.  I guess working at King's Chef will teach you something. Then around 1995 Merl and Sandra Moore purchased the diner from Sam Jonson and ran the King's Chef until 1997.  Gary Geiser then purchased the diner in 1997 and has run it since.  We would like to thank all of the previous owners for making the King's Chef Diner the success that it is.  Your hard work is well appreciated.
King's Chef Diner is well known for its huge food portions and extraordinary green chili that is very spicy and full of flavor, also known as southwestern chili verde.  Connoisseurs of spicy foods will love this homemade  product.
